Arizona deputy shot; illegal immigrants suspected
PHOENIX – A sheriff's deputy was shot and wounded Friday after encountering a group of suspected illegal immigrants who apparently had been hauling bales of marijuana along a major smuggling corridor in the Arizona desert — a violent episode that comes amid a heated national debate over immigration.
State and federal law enforcement agencies deployed helicopters and scores of officers in pursuit of the suspects after the deputy was shot with an AK-47 on Friday afternoon, and the search continued into the night. Deputy Louie Puroll, 53, had a chunk of skin torn from just above his left kidney, but the wound was not serious and he was doing fine.

Obama wants to annex Puerto Rico ?
Glenn Beck: The 51st State?

GLENN: I'm going to put a congressman on the phone with us in just a second, but I want to explain, I want to explain a little bit of something about what you're going to hear. I want you to understand that now in Washington we can't talk about principles and more. We can't talk about anything that is real anymore. All we talk about, when you talk about anything that's happening in Washington, you must frame it in, "This is only about politics and the future power for any given group of people." That's really all it is.
Now, there are those in Washington that are fighting for a reduction of that power, but there are very few of them. Remember also that the progressive party, the progressive party is only about power and control. Progressives, if you understand it the way they do in England and in Europe, progressives are Fabian socialists. They are left and right, Nazi and communist. Here left is used to be big government; right is anarchy. Used to be. Now left and right more and more are big government, both sides. Your only choice, big government. If I said to you that this government is going to do something wait, wait. Let me give you the third principle of progressivism. Big government, left and right doesn't matter. Two is democracy, democratically elected. Democracy is a very important word. We're a republic. That's why they use democracy. Democratically elected, let me give you just a list of a few people who have been democratically elected. Chavez, Castro, Ahmadinejad, Hitler, Mussolini I believe was democratically elected, democratically elected. Usually in a progressive world democratically elected comes with a little twist. There's always something that happens. For instance, Hitler wasn't the Führer. He was the chancellor, democratically elected. And then he cobbled together a coalition that everybody said, oh, no, that will never happen here. And it did, and he became the Führer. Democratically elected always has a little something special to it, in the progressive world. Power. Parties don't matter, principles don't matter. Power and control. Democratically elected.
And the third one? Social justice. Got it? If I told you that our congress, with everything that is going on, they are going to pick up a bill tomorrow and vote on let's see if I I love. I have to get this one exactly right. A Puerto Rican Democracy Act. We have the Puerto Rico democracy act. Who could be against democracy? This is to officially sanction self determination for Puerto Rico. Why do we need to do that in congress, why would we I mean, you can self determine. That's fantastic, great. Why are we doing that? What you're about to hear is going to sound like a conspiracy theory. Tonight on television I'm going to tell you about the evidence now. Tonight on television I will show it to you and your friends. You need to tell everybody. Listen or watch today because you're about to sew another star on the flag of the United States and it will happen, and you have no you'll be like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait, what?

Why Goldman Is Willing to Take the Heat by Glen Beck
Pres Obama and the CCX ?
Glenn Beck breaks the biggest corruption story of the century yesterday and it doesn’t appear on a Front Page anywhere. Beck points the way to the 15 Trillion dollar scam that has some amazing players.
First Glenn makes and astute point: If Goldman is really the bad guy, why are these people still on the job? The Goldman suit is a put up job!
• William C. Dudley, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York; was a partner and managing director at Goldman
• Gary Gensler, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission; spent 18 years at Goldman
• Mark Patterson, chief of staff to Tim Geithner; former Goldman lobbyist
• Philip Murphy; nominated for ambassador to Germany; former Goldman executive
• Diana Farrell; deputy director of the National Economic Council; formerly with Goldman
• Emil Michael; White House fellow; former investment banker with Goldman
Glenn tells us that a watchdog has steered him to the collusion between Barrack Obama, George Soros, Al Gore, Goldman Sachs, Franklin Raines (super crooked Fannie Mae head), CCX, and Generation Investment Management (GIM-London based co-founded by AL Gore).
Know the crooks and their roles:
George Soros, Joyce Foundation and connection to CCX.
What is CCX, the Chicago Climate Exchange, projected to gross 10 Trillion a year is Cap-N-Tax passes. Obama played a pivotal role in the formation of the CCX. (Click here for expose)
Barrack Hussein Obama, Board Member of the Joyce Foundation, funded the formation of the CCX. (
Valerie Jarrett is still on the board, Obama’s top adviser.) Obama sat on board and funneled money to Ayer’s brother (wild huh, just a guy in his neighborhood) and to form the CCX.
AL Gore--Goldman Sachs-- GIM: Hold on to your britches, London-based Generation Investment Management sees the Trillion and they purchased a huge stake in Chicago Climate Exchange (fifth largest shareholder.) The founder of GIM is none other than former Vice President Al Gore along with Goldman people. For example other founders are David Blood (former Goldman executive), Mark Ferguson (Goldman) and Peter Harris (Goldman) to name a few. “
Franklin Raines, mega crooked banker and bust Fannie Mae head, uses Fannie Mae (taxpayers money) to buy the technology to measure and manage carbon. The patent was award the day after Obama and Dems won the election.
Goldman Sachs owns ten percent of the CCX and its 10 Trillion a year potential. (CCX is 10% owned by Goldman Sachs (GS) and 10% owned by Generation Investment Management (GIM).) Gore, Goldman, and Cap and Trade - Tangled Web of Corruption

Ariz. immigration debate pressures McCain
Ariz. immigration debate pressures McCain
By JONATHAN J. COOPER and PAUL DAVENPORT,
PHOENIX – Republican Sen. John McCain, who once championed a path to citizenship for the nation's roughly 12 million undocumented immigrants, is now pushing for a crackdown on illegals amid the toughest re-election fight of his career.
McCain's hardline stance on immigration comes in the face of a credible GOP primary challenger, former Rep. J.D. Hayworth, and the possibility that the party's 2008 presidential nominee could lose his Senate seat because many conservatives don't consider him one of their own.
Engaged in a fierce contest with the tea party-backed Hayworth, McCain has moved to the right on numerous issues, including gay rights and climate change, and disavowed his long-standing maverick label.
The killing of an Arizona rancher last month stoked conservatives' emphasis on fighting illegal immigration. The state Legislature on Monday sent Republican Gov. Jan Brewer one of the toughest immigration laws in the country; Brewer hasn't said what she will do. The turn of events has moved immigration to the forefront for voters — and Hayworth has used the issue as a cudgel against McCain.
On March 27, rancher Rob Krentz, 58, was found dead on his all-terrain vehicle after making a garbled call about encountering someone apparently needing help. Authorities say they believe Krentz was shot by an illegal border-crosser, possibly someone working for a smuggling cartel, although they haven't made arrests in the case.
Hayworth has assailed McCain's work on a 2005 bill that included providing a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants, a provision Hayworth calls amnesty. McCain co-sponsored the bill with the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., and argued in 2007 when the effort failed that he wouldn't give up because "the American people will not settle for the status quo — de facto amnesty and broken borders."
Facing pressure from conservatives in his own party, he began backing off his support of an immigration overhaul during his presidential primary campaign. Early in 2008, McCain privately told congressional Republicans that he had been hurt politically by his push for immigration reform and had learned that sealing the border should be a top priority.
In his bid for a fifth term, the 73-year-old lawmaker has made clear that he understands the political reality.
McCain was on the air this week to pitch a tough crackdown on illegal immigration, renewing a call to deploy 3,000 National Guard troops to the Arizona border, the busiest stretch for illegal border crossings. He also wants 3,000 additional Customs and Border Protection agents, new fences and increased aerial surveillance.
The plan was released with fellow Arizona Republican Sen. Jon Kyl, but it was McCain who went on Fox News Channel to sell it.
The plan was similar to a proposal released a week earlier by Arizona ranchers who went to the state Capitol after Krentz's death.
Hayworth called the senators' plan an "election-year gimmick." McCain's campaign spokesman, Brian Rogers, accused Hayworth of using the rancher's death "to exploit a family's tragedy to score cheap political points."
Hayworth also said McCain's actions are too little, too late.
"Had McCain supported my efforts in 2005 to secure the U.S. border, rather than stubbornly supporting amnesty, we would not be trying to apply quick fixes today," Hayworth said.
McCain argued that he's been working for years on securing the border and says he's worked directly with Mexican President Felipe Calderon on the issue.
"I have a long record of legislative efforts as well as other efforts to try and get the border secured," he said.

Minuteman Work Continues in Southern Arizona
Minuteman Work Continues in Southern Arizona
Carmen Mercer started with the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps in 2002 Mercer said local chapters will continue to battle illegal immigration despite the fact that the national group has disbanded.
The president of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps says that even though her national group has disbanded, local Minuteman groups can continue to operate, and she promises to continue her work in Cochise County to solve the illegal immigration problem. The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps was founded as a neighborhood watch program in 2002 in Tombstone by Carmen Mercer and Chris Simcox, but it disbanded in late March. Numerous issues, including leadership struggles, financial mismanagement and failed political campaigning were cited as possible reasons for the group's dissolution.
Mercer, 54, president of the recently disbanded MCDC, is a German immigrant who went through the process to gain her U.S. citizenship. She has lived in Tombstone for 14 years and owns the O.K. Caf. She said she was unaware of the problems of illegal immigration until witnessing them first-hand.
"I would come home from Sierra Vista after doing my shopping at night and I would see hundreds of people walking along the San Pedro River, thinking they were tourists," she said. "I met Chris Simcox and told him what I had seen, and he said, 'You can't really think those are tourists. Those were illegal aliens that just broke into our country.'"

Where Do YOUR Taxes Go?
Where Do YOUR Taxes Go?
Almost half the nation won't owe income taxes Thursday, thanks to the Bush tax cuts and thousands of dollars in refundable tax credits from President Obama. That's why America's income tax burden looks the way it does. The top one percent of tax payers -- those earning over $390,000 -- pay the same amount in income taxes as the lowest 95 percent of Americans combined. That group comprises anyone making under $150,000, according to the tax foundation.
“Last year, Washington paid out more than $70 billion in refundable tax credits to individuals who either had no income tax liability or just a small one, so that's why people look at April 15 as pay day rather than tax day,” said Scott Hodge, President of the Tax Foundation.
Regardless of how much each American is paying, no one wants his or her money being wasted. Take the C-17, a transport plane Obama tried to cancel last year and is again targeting for termination this year.
In fiscal year 2010, Congress appropriated $2.5 billion to procure 10 C-17 transport planes -- even though the initiative has been opposed by both the Bush and Obama administrations and the Department of Defense decided to cease C-17 production in 2007.
Fox News Calculator: How Much Are YOU Paying for C-17 Production?
Do you want your tax money to pay for 10 C-17 transport planes the Pentagon says it does not want or need, even if it does employ people in 10 states?
We crunched the numbers so you can find out how much it costs you. If you earn $15,000, the planes will cost you a little more than a dollar. If you make between $200,000 $250,000, the planes will cost you about $70.
How about funding for NASA? Obama’s fiscal year 2011 budget would end funding for the Constellation Systems program, initiated by NASA in 2005 to return astronauts to the moon by 2020 and later to Mars. The administration says the program is behind schedule and cannot achieve its goals without budget increases.
Fox News Calculator: How Much Are YOU Paying to NASA?
Now it is your turn to tell Congress which programs you would like to keep funding, and which ones should go.
Even though the nation is technically broke, not everyone votes no.

WASHINGTON – Mike Huckabee, a possible Republican presidential candidate in 2012, says the effort to allow gays and lesbians to marry is comparable to legalizing incest, polygamy and drug use.
Huckabee also told college journalists last week that gay couples should not be permitted to adopt. "Children are not puppies," he said.

Newt Gingrich Takes Advice From Man Who Calls Obama “The Kenyan”
Former Speaker of the House and potential 2012 Republican candidate Newt Gingrich took questions from a crowd at his “Real Jobs Summit” in New Orleans on Thursday and was put into an uncomfortable position by an audience member who referred to President Barack Obama as “the Kenyan” during a comment after Gingrich’s statements.
Discussing federal expenses, the audience member argued that, even if conservatives managed to lower costs one year, “then year two, when the Kenyan decides we need more money, it’ll be back up to 30, 35%. They can’t be trusted.”

BORDER-LINE DELUSIONAL: JOHN MCCAIN IN HIS OWN WORDS
BORDER-LINE DELUSIONAL: JOHN MCCAIN IN HIS OWN WORDS
Phoenix, AZ (April 10) - He's far from alone in his feelings, but even Senator John McCainfeels like he has failed Arizona and the American people when it comes to securing our border with Mexico.
Senator McCain admitted to the Arizona Daily Star editorial board on April 1st that in losing the presidential election, he lost the battle for protecting Arizonans and the American people starting at the U.S.-Mexican border.
In an interview published today, the Star questioned John McCain on his plan to secure the border. McCain's response was, "If I were President, I would have come forward with a proposal. And people keep coming to me and saying 'what's your proposal?' And I say, 'look, I lost the election.'"
McCain has criticized Congress for failing to secure the border which prompted the Star to ask the senator, "What have you done to secure the border?"
McCain's response? "Not enough."
JD Hayworth, who is mounting a conservative challenge to McCain in the August 24th Republican Primary, feels the same as McCain. John McCain hasn't done enough.
"As a Senator he holds the power to introduce bills, to bring solutions to problems, and to rally support," said Hayworth. "With 28 years in Washington - and most of that time as the darling of mainstream media - I don't think he's powerless to get anything done, I think he's unwilling. He doesn't want to lose that darling status."
"That's the primary difference between John McCain and me," Hayworth continued. "Not only am I ready, willing and able to fight for securing the border, my "Enforcement First Act" that I introduced when I was in the House is out there for everyone to read. Unfortunately, less conservative members of Congress - like Senator McCain - weren't willing to do what it takes to finally stop the flow of people, drugs and crime across our border."

In her poem “The New Colossus,” inscribed on the base of the Statue of Liberty, Emma Lazarus wrote: “Give me your tired, your poor / Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free / The wretched refuse of your teeming shore / Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me.”
Americans embraced that image of a nation that welcomed those who wanted to work hard and grow and build their lives. But Barack Obama has replaced this call for self-reliance with an offer of security and serenity protected, subsidized, and sheltered by the government. Obama heralds his arrival on the battlefield of our politics not with a cacophony of confrontation, but with a lulling siren song designed to sedate and anesthetize us while he transplants our essence and replaces it with something else entirely. His sirens—the modern equivalent of those voices that tried to lure Ulysses onto the rocks and to his death in Homer’s Odyssey—sing the same soothing lullaby that has long since lulled Europe and Japan into a trance.
THE SIREN SINGS: Put aside your ambition. Don’t work so hard. Slow down and live a little. Don’t worry. Give the government your insecurities. Let us take care of them.
BUT REALITY ANSWERS: If we go back to being a nation of childlike dependents, relying on a parental government, we will become poorer and poorer, having to make do with less and less. Government cannot create jobs or wealth. It can only take from some and give it to others. And if people cannot keep their own money, they will stop working, innovating, taking the risks that are key to survival and growth—and we will all have less.
THE SIREN SINGS: You’re not alone in the world. You have your community to surround you and a safety net below you. We have anticipated all the vagaries of life, all of its uncertainties, and have made provision for them.
BUT REALITY ANSWERS: It’s the fear of failure, as much as the dream of success, that motivates us all to work hard, compete, and succeed. If life holds no perils, there’s little to get us out of bed in the morning. While we must protect those who cannot help themselves, for most of us it’s the fear of bad outcomes—as much as the lure of reward—that impels our labor.
THE SIREN SINGS: Give up some of your sovereignty and independence. You won’t need it anymore. Your leaders will show you what to do. You must surrender what you have to the community. We are all in this together. We are a unit, an entity. We will share the sacrifice, take care of each other, and let our government point the way.
BUT REALITY ANSWERS: Government does almost everything worse than private business. The U.S. Postal Service is a joke compared to FedEx and UPS. The Veterans Administration hospitals are a disgrace to the men and women who have served us. Our government cannot control our borders. It can’t even distribute flu shots to those who need them. Private and church schools educate better, for less money, than public educational institutions do. State universities are drowning in their own bureaucracy. And the list goes on. Only in the military, police, and firefighting services—with their extraordinary standards of martial discipline, self-sacrifice, unit cohesion and morale—does the public sector excel.
THE SIREN SINGS: Abandon the delusions of your religious faith. They are old, for a different time. You don’t need them anymore. Secular humanism has made them unnecessary. Turn away from the spurious rituals and the false security they offer. Embrace the real security of a committed community led by enlightened experts.
BUT REALITY ANSWERS: We each have a God-sized hole in our hearts and souls. Without faith, some people turn to addiction; others lose themselves in narcissism. Some become workaholics, others compulsive gamblers, and still others status-seekers who make the acquisition of material goods their own yardstick in life. Where religion falters, self-involvement takes the place of child-rearing, and birth rates drop. Values decline—and an increase in crime, sexually transmitted disease, and suicide are the result.
THE SIREN SINGS: You don’t really need your democracy anymore. Let us experts run things. We know better than you what you need and we have the knowledge to get it for you. Turn away from the cantankerous politics of shrill debate. Trust those who act with benign knowledge of what is best for you.
BUT REALITY ANSWERS: The experts covet power, and power corrupts them as easily as it does anyone else. Bureaucracies become obsessed with self-perpetuation and soon lose sight of the populations they are supposed to serve. They develop cozy relationships with the power brokers in big companies to form a consortium of business and government to control our lives. It is only through democracy that we can fight their tyranny.

Obama is 'most radical president ever'
Obama is 'most radical president ever'
NEW ORLEANS Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a potential presidential candidate in
2012, called Barack Obama on Thursday "the most radical president in American history" who
oversees a "secular, socialist machine."
Gingrich reminded conservative activists why he was one of the nation's most polarizing leaders in the 1990s, opening the Southern Republican Leadership Conference with a biting assessment of Obama's policies.
"The most radical president in American history has now thrown down the gauntlet to the American people: 'I run a machine.
I own Washington and there's nothing you can do about it,'" Gingrich said. He urged his fellow Republicans to stop what he called Obama's "secular, socialist machine."

Obama's ducks the socialist label in recent CBS interview, but.....
See the radical political childhood background of the slick talking Obama
http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/38805/
He mocks those that call him a socialist. Just last week, in an interview, lovingly —
almost reverently — conducted by CBS's Harry Smith,
he said that people couldn't back up the "notion"
that he's a socialist.
It does not look for America.

Vigilantes expect more to come after Robert Krentz murder
Border Vigilantes expect more to come after rancher Robert Krentz murder
COCHISE COUNTY - After the murder of rancher Robert Krentz, vigilante groups are already patrolling that area of the border. They say they expect more to show up, but some warn that it is a whole different atmosphere now.
"This is a heavily traveled area."
The Cochise County Militia has been known to have nearly 400 members patrolling the border and Dan Frazier expects even more action now, after Krentz's murder.
"If they do come down, I hope they do it the right way, work with law enforcement and not against law enforcement. And the more the merrier. There's enough out here for everybody," said Frazier.
But others like Glenn Spencer with the American Border Patrol say the shooting has changed everything.
"I've thought for years and told people, 'You're alright down here by the border.' They won't hurt the gringo because they know if they start attacking the Americans, our government will be forced to do something," said Spencer.
He lives just a few hundred feet from the border. He says it puts him at an even greater risk to the danger.
"They could be here, kill me and be back in Mexico in five minutes after I'm dead" Spencer said Tuesday.
