From 1992 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004, Barack Obama served as a professor in the Law School. He was a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996. He was a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004, during which time he taught three courses per year. Senior Lecturers are considered to be members of the Law School faculty and are regarded as professors, although not full-time or tenure-track. The title of Senior Lecturer is distinct from the title of Lecturer, which signifies adjunct status. Like Obama, each of the Law School's Senior Lecturers has high-demand careers in politics or public service, which prevent full-time teaching.
 Several times during his 12 years as a professor in the Law School, Obama was invited to join the faculty in a full-time tenure-track position, but he declined. .

President Barack Obama’s uncle will be back in court on drunken driving charges this week, when his lawyer is expected to ask a judge to toss out the results of a blood-alcohol test and statements he made to police. Onyango Obama, the half-brother of the president’s late father, was arrested in Framingham in August.

A police officer said Obama made a rolling stop at a stop sign and nearly caused his cruiser to crash into Obama’s sport utility vehicle.
Police said Obama registered 0.14 on a blood-alcohol test. The state’s legal limit is 0.08.

The 34-year-old from central Mexico charges that the sheriff's lawyer warned against mentioning the affair with Babeu. DeRose said gossip about Babeu would focus attention on Jose, attention that could result in his deportation, Jose says.

FLORENCE, AZ - Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu announced during a Saturday news conference in Florence that he is gay.



The announcement came as he denied allegations that he threatened an ex-lover with deportation as reported by the Phoenix New Times .

AURORA — In honor of Black History Month, St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church will host guest preacher the Rev. Jeremiah Wright for its Sunday service.



Wright is the past senior preacher of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, the church attended by the family of President Barack Obama.

Wright is most widely known for controversial comments during the 2008 election season taken from his sermons. But he also is known as an influential black liberation theologian, preaching that the Bible serves as a model for combating injustice.

“This is a really big issue for us,” the Rev. Cheryl Green of St. John said Thursday. “Dr. Wright, as a forerunner in social justice, will be here to get us on track with social justice in the 21st century.”

Obama administration was at "war" with the Catholic church

"The fact is what you're saying is there cannot be a genuine Catholic hospital," said Gingrich, who converted to Catholicism in 2009. "It will have to be subordinated to a secular government."

Gingrich, also appearing today on CBS's "Face the Nation," added that the policy proved that the Obama administration was at "war" with the Catholic church and launching "the most outrageous assault on religious freedom in American history."

The former House speaker said policies such as this prove that Obama is "so unacceptable" that he will support his rival Mitt Romney in the general election if the former Massachusetts governor is the Republican nominee.



"I believe President Obama is such a direct threat to the future of this country that I will support the Republican nominee because I believe that President Obama is a disaster," Gingrich said.
