On Friday, President Obama blamed drugs and guns for the massive crime sprees and continued violence that has disrupted so many lives and caused chaos and fear in Mexico.

According to Yahoo, Obama blames “illegal drugs” for being the root cause of the violence in Mexico while giving a speech at Mexico's Anthropology Museum.

"Much of the root cause for violence that has been happening here in Mexico, for which so many Mexicans have suffered, is the demand for illegal drugs in the United States.”

But Obama didn’t stop there. Despite suffering a blow to his gun reform policy a few weeks ago, the president continues to stump for “common sense” gun reform and managed to put some of the blame not just on the drugs, but the desire for dangerous criminals to acquire weapons.

"Most of the guns used to commit violence here in Mexico come from the United States," Obama said. "I think many of you know that in America, our Constitution guarantees our individual right to bear arms. And as president, I swore an oath to uphold that right, and I always will."

"But at the same time, as I've said in the United States, I will continue to do everything in my power to pass common-sense reforms that keep guns out of the hands of criminals and dangerous people," he added.

Galvanizing conservatives Dinesh D’Souza and John Sullivan’s documentary 2016: Obama's America grossed a stellar $6.3 million as it expanded nationwide over the weekend, beating a trio of three new films.

The anti-Barack Obama film, opening last month in only a few theaters, now boasts a domestic cume of $9.2 million, the top gross of the year for a documentary (excluding nature films). Bully was the previous crownholder with $3.5 million.

Among other records, Obama's America is now the top conservative documentary of all time, beating out Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed ($7.7 million).

Obama's America -- promoted heavily on talk radio and distributed by Rocky Mountain Pictures -- timed its nationwide expansion to the Republican National Convention, which gets underway this week in Tampa, Fla.

Otherwise, it was a dismal weekend for new offerings. Holdovers dominated the box office chart, led by Lionsgate and Millennium Films' The Expendables, which grossed $13.5 million in its second weekend for a 10-day domestic cume of $52.3 million.

Sony's new Joseph Gordon-Levitt action thriller Premium Rush came in No. 8, opening to a muted $6.3 million. The film cost just north of $30 million to produce and is directed by noted screenwriter David Koepp, who co-wrote the script with John Kamps.

Welfare Reform Revisited

Obama quietly eases the rules for getting welfare assistance. The HHS department rewrites the rules for determining eligibility for welfare.

It was revealed late last week through a Health and Human Services memo that the Obama administration is planning to quietly reform, and as Republicans allege unilaterally gut, the 1996 Welfare Reform Bill. Under the new reforms, states would be allowed to request waivers for the work requirements for welfare recipients that were at the foundation of the 1996 bill.

“This is a brazen and unwarranted unraveling of welfare reform,” Michigan Republican and Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee  Rep. David Camp told the Washington Times. “This ends welfare reform as we know it.”

The Times notes that the new policy would allow states to launch their own welfare reform projects,during which they would not have to require that recipients work.

The Obama administration does not have the ability to waive the work requirement by themselves, but can waive another section of the act that includes language requiring states to enforce the work requirement. On “Real News” Tuesday the panel discussed the possible reform to welfare policy and the administration’s legal authority to waive the work requirement.

(Boston Herald, Apr. 13, 2012) "Pursuant to this meeting, Mr. Onyango will be required to check in regularly with immigration officials pending his removal. Absent a change in his immigration status or any related court proceedings, Mr. Onyango will be required to report to ICE in the coming weeks in order to effectuate his departure from the United States," he continued. President Obama's uncle was arrested last year for driving erratically and operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol at nearly twice the legal limit. (Boston.com, Aug. 31, 2011; see also Boston Herald, Mar. 28, 2012) Upon arrest, Onyango was briefly detained by ICE officials when they discovered he had ignored a 20-year-old deportation order. (Boston.com, Aug. 31, 2011)
Given the fact Onyango has yet to face any consequences, it is uncertain whether ICE's statements indicating they are considering deportation proceedings against him are sincere. Following Onyango's arrest, Massachusetts Judge Douglas Stoddard put the case on hold for one year and effectively dismissed the DUI charges under the terms of the plea arrangement. (Chicago Tribune, Mar. 27, 2012; see also FAIR Legislative Update, Apr. 2, 2012) The plea deal provided that so long as Onyango is not arrested again this year, the Court will dismiss the drunk-driving charges against him. Since President Jimmy Carter announce his beliefs in his term till today I have yet to a practical application of solar power in any form.

Both are selling the ideal of solar as a means to end the oil needs of America.

If you look closely to any federal spending on solar, the companies experience a short spike in their business, usually several weeks later if you look at the numbers the jobs have dwindled away and the manufacturing of any solar hardware has been outsourced to China.  What the shit ?
It seems sort of stupid to still be continuing to sell the ideal of solar. This time around I believe that solar will cost Obama many votes and contribute to to his re election failure.

Former HSA Secretary Michael Chertoff has jumped into the fray over whether to use full body scanners with an op-ed in the Washington Post. He urges that Congress fund "a large-scale deployment of next-generation systems."

Most airport security checkpoints use metal detectors. Al-Qaeda has shown that it knows how to avoid detection by using an explosive device that contains little or no metal, such as PETN, or pentaerythritol tetranitrate, used by Abdulmutallab and "shoe bomber" Richard Reid in 2001.

It will only be a matter of time before terrorists figured out how to avoid detection with these machines as well. One reason: The Government's publicly available list of which machines have been purchased for airport use. Each one carriesthe name of the company that makes them, and the company's website has all the particulars about the machine, including in some cases, what a particular machine doesn't screen.

Alternatively, by searching various scanners' web pages, which anyone can find using google, they will see which ones are Government certified. For example, the Rapiscan WaveScan 200, advertises that "the WaveScan 200 millimeter wave sensors do not image anatomical details, thus protecting privacy."

How much of a leap is it from that advisement to figuring out hiding explosives in one's crotch will not be detected?

I can't tell if TSA is using the Rapidscan 200 yet, but it has been using the RapidScan 1000, whose web page contains this notice:
